RAY CITY, GA (WALB) - A Ray City man is behind bars for burglary after eluding law enforcement for several days.

Investigators say Gary Manning stole cash and jewelry from the home of one of his relatives on Ward Street in Ray City last Tuesday.  He was later spotted in Lanier County.

After a high-speed chase, Manning fled on foot, and got away.

Investigators from Berrien and Lanier Counties, along with GBI agents, finally found Manning in Long County, where a friend was helping him hide.

"Doug Giddens, he's from Ray City also--he and Gary went over to Hinesville," says Lt. Wayne Luke of the Berrien County Sheriffs Office.  "By use of a cell phone, pinging off towers, we located their exact location, and in Long County, in Hinesville, made the arrests."

Manning's wife, Amanda Jones, has also been charged as party to the crime.
