Albany- Family and friends packed the gymnasium to see the winter graduates received their diplomas.

The graduates listened to an inspirational message given by University System Regent Wanda Yancey Rodwell. She is also Delta Airlines Corporate Communications General Manager.

41 of the graduates earned something more than a diploma. Tuesday they got their official nursing pins.

The students completed coursework through Darton's two year nursing program. Medical workers say with the nation's nursing shortage... the program is more important than ever.

Darton is one of the few colleges in the nation that still holds a traditional nurses pinning. The speaker at the ceremony... Mary Wysochansky... is a registered nurse and Vice President of Nursing at Crisp Regional Hospital.
