ALBANY, GA (WALB) - It felt like a hundred degrees outside on Sunday, no better time to take a dip in the pool.

On Sunday afternoon the Carver pool opened for the summer. The popular pastime will cost the city more than $72,000.

Money was put back into the budget for the pool which was scheduled to close.

A couple dozen kids showed up for a dip on Sunday.

The recreation department originally planned to close the pool because it was too expensive and not enough people use it.

The pool will remain open for four days a week until the end of July.

It's 25 cents for kids and 50 cents for anyone over the age of 13.
