Grand opening draws a crowd

December 17, 2002

Albany - Tuesday's grand opening of the new office for Albany Tomorrow and the Georgia Water Planning and Policy Center continues the $210-million downtown renovation project. The offices are located on the second floor of the Riverfront Resource Center on Pine Avenue. The Resource Center is already the home of the Dougherty County Extension Service and the Georgia Tech Economic Center.

Albany is now the home of the State Water Planning and Policy center, an organization who studies the quality of Georgia water. Albany Tomorrow President Tommy Chatmon says the modern decor of the offices goes along with ATI's focus on the future and keeping Albany up-to-date with other major cities. The renovated building housed Bob's Candies during from the 1940's through the 1960's.
