ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Thousands of dollars have been raised to help out with an Albany organization's mission to help special needs children.

A week long treasure hunt to benefit Megan's House came to a close Saturday with a concert.

Participants were required to visit several businesses around the city in search of clues. Those who got all 10 clues correct were entered into a drawing.

The first prize winner took home $5000 worth of prizes and the winning family says this couldn't have come at a better time.

"I got an Albany Mall gift certificate. It's just an incrediable amount, $500 from Turners furniture. And I need a new couch," said winning family, Lauren Stoklosa.

Organizers estimate about $6500 was raised for Megan's House.

All of the proceeds will help provide children with scholarships that will help out with the cost of their stay at Megan's House.
