ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Georgia's Work Ready program is offering another incentive that could help both the program and job hunters. More than 53,000 Georgians have received Work Ready certificates.

Dougherty County is a certified Work Ready community. Now the state is using stimulus money to encourage those who don't have a job go through the assessment. If you score above the minimum, you could get a gift card up to $100 to help with your job search.

"Keep in mind it's not just coming to take it you have to certify as a certified worker as an individual at least at the minimum of level to qualify for the $50 and then at the higher levels to qualify for the $100," said Matt Trice, Albany Technical College Economic Development V.P.

Applicants are tested on applied mathematics, reading information, and locating information. You must be 21 to receive the incentives that will be mailed to those who qualify.

If you're interested in taking the Work Ready assessment you can call Albany Technical College at (229)430-3563.
