Posey named to California League All-Star team

SAN JOSE, CA (WALB) - One year after San Francisco Giants made Buster Posey the fifth overall pick in the 2008 baseball draft, the former Lee County and Florida State star is showing the Giants made the right move.  

On the day of the 2009 major league draft, Buster Posey learned he is been selected to the California League all-star team.

Posey, who plays for the Giants Class A team in San Jose, earns the starting all-star nod with a 307 batting average, nine homeruns and 41 runs batted in.

Buster Posey is one of three San Jose Giants players selected to the California League all-star team.

The California League will play the Carolina League all-stars on June 23rd in Lake Elsinore, California.
