Monroe track teams honored

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The state champion Monroe boys and girls track teams honored at Monday night's Dougherty County school board meeting.

Dougherty Co. Commission chairman Jeff Sinyard and Mayor Willie Adams both read resolutions honoring the boys and girls teams  from the county and city commissions.

The school board presented members with plaques for their state title sweep.

Monroe track coach Octavia Jones is only the third coach in state history to win two state titles with two separate teams in the same school year.
