(Atlanta-AP) -- Greater Atlanta Christian School turned back Early County's two-point conversion attempt on the final play, surviving for a 21-to-19 win today in a Class Double-A semifinal. Micah Andrews, the son of former Falcons running back William Andrews, rushed for 172 yards on 32 carries for GACS (13-1), which plays next weekend at Buford for the state championship.
Jeremy Chupp passed to Brannan Southerland with 2:02 left for a 21-13 lead, but Early (12-2) drove 68 yards in the final 1:57, scoring as time expired on Joel Harvin hit Nick George with a 1-yard pass. Needing the two-point conversion to tie and force overtime, Harvin's conversion pass was tipped at the goal line and fell incomplete.
