THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - A woman was arrested for embezzling $50,000 from an elderly Thomasville woman.

Thomasville Police say Kristie Perkins was working as a caregiver for a 72-year-old Thomasville woman from 2006 to 2008. Perkins handled the victim's finances and is accused of taking 50,000 dollars out of the woman's account over two years.

The GBI arrested Perkins in Tallahassee and charged her with 9 counts of theft by taking. She was released from the Thomas county jail this week on an 18,000 dollar bond.
