ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Sherwood Christian Academy athletic director Luke Bowers says the school has postponed Friday's announcement that Reginald Mitchell will be the Eagles new head football coach.
Bowers says the school wants to wait for the Dougherty County Board of Education to accept Mitchell's resignation at Albany High at their meeting Monday night.
The timing of Mitchell's move so close to the season has some thinking the school board may not want to accept Mitchell's resignation.
Dougherty County School System athletic director Johnny Seabrooks told WALB News 10 Sports Thursday Albany High principal Sheila Mitchell is going to recommend the board accept Mitchell's resignation.
If the board does give the okay for Mitchell to move, Bowers says SCA will have an announcement next week.
