LEE COUNTY, GA (WALB) -  A man who was thrown from his motorcycle during a crash on Ledo Road has died, and now an Albany woman is facing felony vehicular homicide charges in connection with the fatal accident.

Troopers tell us 47-year-old David Sledge of Albany died around 11:30 last night at Phoebe Putney. Sledge was rushed to the hospital after his motorcycle collided with a Toyota Highlander on Ledo Road about 8:15.

State troopers tell us the driver of that S-U-V, 40-year-old Melanie Marie Woodley of Albany, turned in front of the motorcycle at the intersection of Ledo and Carmel Road by the Toyota dealership .

Sledge was thrown 95 feet before he landed on the pavement. Two children in the Highlander suffered minor injuries.

Troopers say Woodley is charged with DUI, Failure to maintain to lane, and felony first degree vehicular homicide. She is being held in the Lee County Jail.
