
ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
Some of the best women's amatuer golfers are hitting the links in the good life city this week.
The Southern Golf Association Amatuer Championship is being held in Albany for the first time in its 94 year history.
The tournament is made up of the top amatuers from 15 Southern States and is being held at Stonebridge Country Club.
Stonebridge's Kelly Pearce of Albany made the cut Monday and won her match Tuesday in the championship flight at 1 up after 19 holes.
River Point's Abby Fitzgerald of Leesburg also made the cut but lost Tuesday 4&3.
Stonebridge's Kathryn Fowler of Americus won her match Tuesday at 2 up through 18.
The GISA State Champion from Southland is playing in the first flight after missing the cut on Monday.
The Championship will conclude on Friday
