ALBANY, GA (WALB) - General Motors recent bankruptcy filing will have a negative impact on 150 south Georgia GM and Delphi retirees who will lose benefits starting next month.

A United Auto Workers retirees spokesman confirmed as of July first Albany and Fitzgerald retirees will lose their dental and vision coverage.

Prescription co-pays are also expected to increase, but how much hasn't been determined. They're also awaiting information about how pensions will be affected.

The spokesman said information is slowly being released and it may be some time before they know the full impact on southwest Georgia.
