CAIRO, GA (WALB) - A police chase in Cairo over the weekend ended with a crash, then an arrest.

Cairo Police say 44-year-old Jeffrey Wright of Thomasville was speeding.

When an officer tried to pull him over he kept going.

The chase went into the county for about seven miles before Wright lost control of his vehicle and wrecked on Midway road.

He then got out and ran. About three hours later, police got a call from a resident who said Wright was at his house asking to use the phone.

Wright was arrested and charged with attempting to elude, obstructing a law enforcement officer, and numerous traffic violations.
