VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - Health officials have confirmed another case of meningitis today in Valdosta.

It's the fourth case of the rare meningococcal meningitis since March.  Two of those cases were fatal.

A one-year-old child died in March, and a twenty-three-year-old woman died last week.

The Lowndes County Health Department will provide free vaccines for young people between the ages of 2 and 18 who live in Valdosta.

Those free vaccinations will be offered until October 15.  Health experts advise citizens of all ages to get vaccinated.
