SALE CITY, GA (WALB) - A Sale City councilman is charged with felony theft by conversion.

Travis Flanders was arrested April 21st on charges he stole from the company he worked for.

He worked as a subcontractor for ProBuilt products that builds metal storage buildings.

Investigators say he kept 11 checks that customers wrote to ProBuilt to cover materials costs.

Flanders, who is the former mayor of Sale City, remains on the city council while awaiting trial.
