Unsolved murder case is top priority

December 10, 2002

Decatur County - A haunting unsolved murder is at the top of the list of priorities for one South Georgia Investigator.

Tommy Willis recently returned to the Decatur County Sheriff's office after working on his wife's family farm for a year.

He now wants to focus on the murder of 29-year-old Wendy Bryan. Willis plans to re-interview everyone involved in the case. He says, "It's a huge challenge and a unique situation in law enforcement. Usually an investigator doesn't have the available time to spend on one case."

Bryan was shot and killed during an attempted armed robbery at the Winery in Bainbridge where she was a clerk. The shooting happened July 20, 2001.

There's a 10-thousand dollar reward.
