Albany - Have you noticed those black wires across roads around Albany? They're everywhere --North Westover Boulevard, Washington Street, and Broad Avenue.
The Georgia Department of Transportation uses the wires to monitor traffic flow across the state. Every time a car drives over the wire, a count is taken. The information is used to determine which roads many need widening or repaving. Many businesses also look at the information when they want to locate to high traffic areas.
