ALBANY, GA (WALB) - When a teller at Heritage Bank on Westover noticed three men sitting in a car outside the bank, for more than an hour, she became suspicious and notified co-workers.
They called police, who found a gun on the men and right now, those three men are at the police station being questioned.
"We are very confident in the swift actions of our employees to secure the customers and safety of our bank," said Mary Beth Hobby of Heritage Bank of the South. "They have always been taught to be alert and on watch for any suspicious activity and they do that on a daily basis."
Although it's early in the investigation, and no one has been charged with anything at this time, it's very likely this alert and quick-thinking employee foiled a bank robbery at the Heritage Bank.
Police have confirmed they have the three men in custody and that a gun was recovered. But they won't yet release any details on what they think the men's intentions were.
So far, no charges have been filed against the men.
