The off week could not have come at a better time.
Head coach Rodney Blackshear says his team needed to rest some nagging injuries after a 7-2 start that has the team in first place in the AF2 south.
The Wildcats wanting to rest for what is going to be a big game against Bossier-Shreveport.
The game is the return of former Wildcats head coach Derek Stingley.
Stingley, last year's AF2 coach of the year, is an assistant at Bossier and has many of the players who helped win a division title here last year.
Wildcats head coach Rodney Blackshear said. "Obviously it is a big game. We have got coach Stingley coming in and his guys. As the fans like to call it South Georgia West. We are definitely looking forward to the game this week. Guys are healthy and ready to get back to work."
The Wildcats will kick off against Bossier-Shreveport Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the Albany Civic Center.
