ALBANY, GA (WALB) - An Americus prison guard has been arrested for taking contraband inside Sumter County Correctional Institute.

The GBI has charged 34 year old James Cooper of Smithville with violation of oath of an officer.

But agents won't say what he took inside the prison. Cooper has worked at the prison for about five years.
