ALBANY, GA (WALB) - An off duty Albany officer helped foil robbery after a suspect snatched money from a business and ran.

Just before 11:00AM, officers responded to Cuts-By-Us barber shop in the Publix shopping center on Dawson Road.

Police say 25-year-old Mary Prince walked in and sat down acting like a customer, and then asked an employee for a phone book.

While standing at the counter the woman snatched money out of the cash register and ran.

Off-duty officer Marc Kjellin caught the woman near the Target store next door.

"Off duty officer was there in regular clothing getting a haircut himself when he heard an employee say that she snatched the money, he ran after and captured her behind Target," said APD Lt. Eddie Jones.

Prince will be charged with robbery by sudden snatching.
