ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A three game series is turning into a season for the Deerfield-Windsor and Tattnall Square baseball teams.

The third and final game of their series scheduled for Tuesday afternoon has been rained out.

The Knights and Trojans will try to complete their series at 4:00 p.m. at Deerfield-Windsor.

Deerfield-Windsor coach Rod Murray says both schools have been told by the GISA that the AAA state championship series has been pushed back to next week.

That series was originally scheduled to start on Friday.

The winner of the Deerfield-Windsor/Tattnall Square semifinal series will host Dominion Christian in the state championship series.

The AA semifinal series between Edmund Burke and Tiftarea finally got started on Tuesday in Chula.

Unfortunately, the two teams could only get to the sixth inning before play was suspended.

The game will resume at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday with the Panthers leading 8-0.

Tiftarea was batting in the sixth with runners at second and third.

The Panthers can win the game if they can score two runs in the sixth.

The winner of this series will host Heritage for the AA state championship next week.

The Class A state championship series between Randolph-Southern and Terrell Academy will start Thursday at 4:00 p.m. at Andrew College in Cuthbert.

Game 2 is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Friday in Cuthbert.
