ALBANY, GA (WALB) - While most of you were able to enjoy this Memorial Day relaxing with family and friends, others reported to work. And many of them were there to make sure your holiday was safe.

Public safety personnel were on the clock. Firefighters and police officers continued to patrol homes, businesses and streets. And EMS crews say they have had a pretty busy Monday reporting to calls and transporting patients.

"Being a paramedic and being in public safety, we have to work on these kind of days all because the public always needs some help. And we are here to provide that seven days a week, 24 hours a day," said Dougherty Paramedic Leon Hall.

Dougherty County Emergency Medical crews did get a chance to take a few moments to take a moment of silence to honor all of the fallen service men and woman who died fighting for our freedoms.
