Weather caused graduation issues Friday night

Posted: Updated:

AMERICUS, GA (WALB) - Thousands of south Georgia high school students will graduate over the next week or so.  The weather caused problems Friday night in Americus.

The crowd leaving the Americus-Sumter High School graduation ceremony was happy, but some families weren't happy when it started.  Some folks missed the ceremony.

A little after 5:30, school officials decided to move the seven o'clock ceremony from the football field to the gym because of rain.  Not everyone could fit inside.

Each student was only allowed four tickets to give to family and friends.

266 Panther students received diplomas.
