Albany Police Major retires

December 6, 2002

Albany -- One of the Albany Police Department's Top Cops retired Friday morning. Major Roye Coleman started as a patrolman 27 years ago and worked his way up to the Uniform Division Commander.

Coleman says he will miss the Police Department.

Major Roye Coleman said "I met a lot of friends here and worked with them. Working for the Department for 27 years, it's kind of hard not to miss it. Miss what you are doing, the people. But I'm just trying to move on."

Coleman is going to work as the head of an Albany Security company.
