SHELLMAN, GA (WALB) -The battle for the title in GISA Region 3-A was so close it took a coin flip to decide who got the top seed in the state tournament.

The battle to decide who is the best in the region could be decided in the state championship series.

Three of the four teams from the region have made it to the GISA class A semifinals.

Terrell Academy will host Fullington so that means one team from the region will make it to the state championship series.

Randolph-Southern would love to make it all region three final but head coach Tim Goodin says his Patriots cannot look ahead with a tough semifinal opponent in Citizens Christian from Douglas.

Tim G
oodin said. "It will be nice but we are not worried about that right now. We just need to win this week and that will take care of it. obviously , we are going to play somebody from the region if we do win."

Terrell Academy baseball coach Ashley Walker said. "We knew from the beginning it was going to be a tough region. It says a lot about the talent we have here in south Georgia. It says a lot about GISA single A baseball."

Randolph-Southern will play Citizens Christian in a doubleheader at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Andrew College in Cuthbert.

Terell Academy and Fullington will play at doubleheader at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday in Dawson.

The third game if needed for both series will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
