ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The man accused of attacking an Albany man while he was building a wheelchair ramp for elderly friends made his first appearance in court this morning.

Twenty-four year old Clarence Calloway, known as 'Big C,' was arrested Tuesday on North Davis Street.

He's charged with an April attack on 39-year-old Enoch Raines.

Raines was assaulted with a pipe and robbed April 17th.

Raines suffered a fractured wrist and fractured eye socket, but he told us last week, he's more committed than ever to helping others.

Calloway remains in jail. He was denied bond on five of 13 charges, but is eligible for $5,200 bond on the remaining charges.
