Money stolen from Development Authority

December 5, 2002

WORTH CO. - A woman who was supposed to be collecting your tax money to attract new businesses, was apparently keeping a lot of it for herself.

Worth County's Economic Development Authority Secretary Kimberly Amrowski was arrested Tuesday morning and charged with theft by deception. GBI agents say she stole more than $10,000 from the county agency which works to bring jobs to the community.

Amrowski worked for the development authority for three years. She was fired in November. She turned herself in this morning and returned all the missing money. She's free on $5,000 bond.
