THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - A Thomasville man police say went on a crime spree over the last few days in is jail after leading police on a chase.

Police say 26-year-old Derek Miller is responsible for two burglaries in the Thomas County and a purse snatching in Thomasville over the weekend.

They say he stole a van at the farmer's market Monday morning and led officers on a short chase before he jumped out of the van and took off running.

Officers set up a perimeter near Industrial Blvd. in Thomasville.

They released the dogs who tracked him down in nearby woods around noon Monday. Charges against Miller include burglary, auto theft, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
