ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A local Christian singing group put on a benefit concert tonight to help a local family that lost everything in a recent house fire.

15 people were sleeping a home off South street that caught fire on April 28th.

All 11 children and 4 adults got out safely, but lost everything.

Faith by Grace, an Albany singing group heard what happened, and decided to help out.

We knew right then that we wanted to help this family. We have 11 kids amounst the members of the group. And one of us actually went through a house fire and lost everything so we know what it's like," said Mary Thompson, singer in Faith By Grace.

"I didn't know that there could be this many people that could help you. And it just means a lot to me," said Erica Jones, one of the women in the home that caught fire.

The concert was free but a love offering was taken up for the family.  Local churches and people have already helped out by donating clothing and other household items.
