ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Chrysler hopes to close a quarter of its U.S. dealerships over the next month.
The list of proposed closures released Thursday included at least 13 dealerships in Georgia, but Albany's Carl Gregory was spared.
General Manager Mike Marvel says he's glad to know his employees will still have work, and his customers will still have service.
"We're just happy that we're able to stay here and keep the community with their warranty and their service and their parts, and being able to help employee other people through out the community which services us with tires, oil and parts and a lot of people that wouldn't have jobs if we weren't here" said Marvel.
Chrysler filed for bankruptcy last month and said the closures are needed if the company is to stay viable.
- These Georgia Chrysler dealers are on the list of Chrysler-Dodge outlets to cease offering C/D cars and trucks.
