ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Valdosta State Blazers are in the NCAA DII Regionals for the first time in seven years.
The Blazers are the seventh seed in the south regional which will be played at Southern Arkansas.
The same Southern Arkansas team that beat Valdosta State for the Gulf South Conference title last week.
The Blazers showed a deep pitching staff to make that title game and will need those arms in the regional where they are the seventh seed in the eight team field.
VSU head coach Greg Guilliams said. "I think when you are the seventh seed in an eight team regional. You should come out aggressive and loose because we are really in a situation where we have nothing to lose."
Valdosta State plays at 2:00 p.m. Thursday against Barry in the NCAA DII South Baseball Regional.
