PELHAM, GA (WALB) - A man Pelham police say shot another man in the chest early Saturday morning is in jail Wednesday night.

Investigators arrested him Wednesday in Moultrie after a WALB viewer recognized him from our Monday evening broadcast.

Police say 27-year-old William Vicks shot 22-year-old Christopher Edwards in the 400 block of Love Street.

Vicks was arguing with another person when Edwards intervened and was shot.

Police say Vicks tried to shoot another person and forced the driver of a car to help him get away by holding them at gunpoint.

"We received a call this morning from someone in Moultrie who saw the spot on WALB. They advised us of Vick's whereabouts and gave us an address," said Inv. Rod Williams with the Pelham Police Department.

Vicks is charged with three counts of aggravated Assault, kidnapping, possession of firearm during felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Edwards remains in the hospital, but is expected to recover.
