SYLVESTER, GA (WALB) - Homeowners in Sylvester can now feel a little safer and save money on their insurance premiums. The City of Sylvester received a better Insurance Service Organization rating, dropping from a five to a four.
The Sylvester Fire Department attributes the drop to improved record keeping, better equipment, and larger staff.
"With the combined efforts of all three, agencies, departments or areas, we really can make your community a lot safer. A rating is really good, but in the end it's all about how well you can perform in the time of need," said Sylvester Fire Chief, Jody Yarbrough.
The new score goes into effect September first. Insurance premiums are expected to drop between 15 and 20 percent.
