LOWNDES COUNTY, GA (WALB) - For those in need of low-interest loans to cover storm repairs, time is running out.

At noon on Friday, the Small Business Administration will close disaster loan outreach centers across the state. 

Applying to the SBA brings more than just loans.  It is a gateway to further federal assistance, and grants from FEMA.

If you miss the chance to meet with SBA, your recovery could take longer than you think.

"One of the things that people need in assistance after disasters is how quickly they get that assistance.  The fast way to do it is to bring it into a disaster loan outreach center where we can check it and review it and make sure it's filled out appropriately, which will hasten the process.  People will know more quickly if they've been approved for the loan."

The SBA has disaster loan outreach centers in Valdosta, Moultrie, Bainbridge, Tifton, and Douglas.  To find the location nearest you, call 1800-659-2955.
