ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany State will open the 2009 football season on the road but not at Shaw University.
The Golden Rams will open the season at Chowan University on Thursday August 27th with a 6:00 p.m. kickoff.
Chowan is in the CIAA.
The same conference as Shaw University.
The Golden Rams opened the the 2008 season at home against Shaw and were supposed to return the favor and play the Tigers in Durham North Carolina this August.
Shaw had a schedule conflict and Albany State agreed to release Shaw from their schedule this year.
Chowan is scheduled to play Albany State in 2010.
