ALBANY, GA (WALB) -An Albany gang member is chased down by Police and arrested over the weekend.

Investigators say the 23 year old shot down a teenager outside a city owned community center in November.

23 year old Joe Marshall was arrested Saturday night a little after 7 after Police catch him in a foot chase after he jumped out of his car.

Marshall is charged with aggravated assault for the November 17th shooting of 17 year old Dominique Wiggins outside the Henderson Gym on Willard Avenue.

Police say that night a fight broke out outside the Gym, and shots were fired. Wiggins was not involved in the fight, but was struck in the buttocks running away.

Saturday night Police spotted Marshall driving a car in the 14-hundred block of South Harding.

Albany Police Gang Unit Commander Captain Mack Green said "We observed the vehicle that he was driving. We tried to get him to stop for a traffic violation. When he stopped he jumped out of the vehicle and took off running. One of the Officers chased him down."

Police say Marshall is a gang member, but they say the November shooting did not involve gangs.
