ALBANY, GA (WALB) - For the second time in less than a week, a restaurant along North Slappey Boulevard is robbed at gunpoint.  The latest happened around 12:40 Thursday morning at the Subway on North Slappey.

Police say two employees were inside Subway when a man, armed with a gun, jumped the counter and demanded cash.  He's described as black, about 5'8, 140 pounds last seen wearing a dark hoodie with a scarf covering his face.

The employees weren't hurt by the robber who got away with an undetermined amount cash.

This is the third time since May 19, 2008 that the Subway on North Slappey has been robbed at gunpoint.

It happened just a few blocks away from the Taco Bell on North Slappey which was held up Saturday morning. In that case, a gunman held up employees preparing to open for business. That suspect made off with a bank bag.

If you have any information about either of these crimes, you're asked to contact the Albany Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 229-436-TIPS.
