Albany church air conditioner stolen

By Jim Wallace - bio | email

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -Someone stole an Albany church's air conditioning unit.

This pad is where the four ton air conditioning unit sat at the Jesus Chris Believers Church on West Oglethorpe.

The Church reported it missing about 6 Tuesday night.  Pastor Robert Lawson said during tough times, it seems thieves will steal from anyone, even a church.

Lawson said "I really think that people don't care anymore. They really don't have the feelings today for the church and the respect for the church. So it's a real bad thing I think."

Lawson says it will probably cost about $1,500 to replace the air conditioning unit. This is the second theft at the church in ten years.
