Albany- The Salvation Army bell ringers say since the Christmas season has just begun, people are giving freely from their pockets. Bell ringers and red kettles are positioned all around Albany.

Many bell ringers say they love standing in front of stores just to spread the spirit of giving, and they say they hope the contributions they collect will go a long way.

Last year, the Salvation Army collected over sixty thousand dollars from the red kettle project.
