ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Westover girls tennis team deserved a better fate from mother nature in the 2009 season.
The rain delayed match was then moved to another town this evening where Spalding High won 5-0 to advance to the AAA semifinals.
The match started in Albany but play was stopped about 30 minutes into the match because of rain.
The rain wouldn't stop and the Georgia High School Association said the match had to be finished today.
So the two schools drove to Columbus where the match was completed at Columbus State.
Westover girls finish the season 19-2 and made their first trip to the elite eight.
