ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Lee County baseball coach Rob Williams says his team has been ready for the state playoffs for such a long time.

He had to remind them a few weeks ago to finish the regular season.

The wait for the Trojans is over.

The region 1-AAAA champions will host Glynn Academy in the first round that will be played on Thursday and Friday.

Lee County head coach Rob Williams says Glynn Academy is tough first round opponent because they have an outstanding pitching staff.

The coach likes the playoff experience of his team that played in the semifinals two years ago and made the quarterfinals last season.

Rob Williams said. "Several of these kids this is their third state playoff series. Year they have been in the state playoffs. a lot of them this is their second year. a lot of the new guys this may be their first year on the field but they were at least in the dugout and they experienced the intensity and the excitement."

Kent Patrick said. "We know the intensity we have coming into the state playoffs like this. Hopefully, we can help prepare these younger guys to get ready to play."

Lee County and Glynn Academy play a doubleheader at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday in Leesburg.

If game three is needed it is 5:00 p.m. at Friday.
