VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - Brown-bagging your lunch has become a lot more fun in Valdosta this week.

The city is hosting its 16th annual Brown Bag Lunch concert series through Friday.  Each day from 11:30 to 1:30, free concerts are being held downtown, in front of the courthouse.

The event provides a great opportunity to enjoy live music and the gorgeous weather.

"They're well-attended. We have local vendors, downtown merchants, selling food and drinks. It's a great fun and laid-back atmosphere," says City Manager Larry Hanson.

Concert-goer Keevan Strickland says, "We don't have much stuff around here where they have live music and you can come out and enjoy it.  There's no mosquitoes, no smoking, no drinking--it's just a nice place to come."

On Wednesday, Jack Rabbit Slim will perform. On Thursday, it's the Lowndes High School Jazz Band.  Skannyardle will take the stage on Friday.
