ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Nursing practitioners from across the state were in Albany Saturday morning. The local Flint River Chapter hosted the state wide meeting at the Hilton Garden Inn. There the group of NP's discussed legislative changes in their fields, and it also gave them a chance to network.

Nurse Practitioners are on the front lines of health care, and they are all working to stay informed on any developments with the H1-N1 virus.

"We haven't seen any in this area. So we are just trying to be diligent and keeping up with the CDC recommendations on how we should test, diagnose and treat those patients," said Flint River Chapter President, Darlene Boyette.

The Centers for Disease Control recommends any clinician that will be testing potential H1-N1 patients wear a special surgeon's mask to avoid getting infected.
