Deerfield-Windsor's Conway ready to sprint at GISA track meet

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - After winning eight state titles in distance events in the last three years, Deerfield-Windsor junior Kelly Conway is ready to show some speed at this year's GISA state track meet.

Conway has won three state titles in each of the last two years.

This year she is hoping to win five.

Conway will run the 1600 and 800 meter races again but this year she is running the 400 meters and is also running both relays.

Conway says she decided to make the change during her indoor schedule this winter.

Kelly Conway said. "I think I have just kind of surprised people. Because most people are used to seeing me in long distance races. To see me in the shorter races is kind of surprising to some."

The GISA state track meet starts Thursday at Hugh Mills Stadium.
