ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Georgia Tech coach Paul Johnson has certainly raised expectations after just one season as the head coach of the Yellow Jackets football team.

That is because no one has higher expectations than Johnson.

Yellow Jacket fans from across South Georgia got the outlook for the 2009 season from Georgia Tech secondary coach Charles Kelly.

Kelly says spring practice went very well as the Jackets big offseason task is to replace three defensive linemen who were all taken in the NFL draft.

The good news for the Jackets is most of the skill players in the Johnson's option attack are back and are more comfortable with the offense.

Coach Kelly says the Jackets were pleased with last season but the head coach knows they can accomplish even more this fall.

Charles Kelly said. "But his expectations are for us to be as good as we can be. That is our goal to try to be the very best that we can be. He has definitely set that tone for us."

Georgia Tech opens the season September 5th at home against Jacksonville State.
