ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Westover defeated Richmond Hill 4-1 in the second round of the GHSA AAA tennis tournament.
Lady Patriots number one player Meredith Sellers lost the first set of her match but rallied to win the next two sets. Abby Blankenship and Leigh Adams also won their singles matches.
In doubles, Rachel Etheridge and Whitney Smith lost a tough three set match at number one.
Lady Patriots number two doubles team of Sally Pickett and Lydia Morgan won their match.
Westover will play Spalding in the third round.
In Tifton, it was the Tift County girls also advancing to the round of 8 with a 3-0 win over Lovejoy.
