ALBANY, GA (WALB) - South Georgia Wildcats quarterback Darnell Kennedy has been named the offensive player of the week in the AF2 league.

Kennedy earning the honor after throwing eight touchdown passes and running for another score in the Wildcats win over Peoria last Saturday.

What is amazing about Kennedy's eight touchdown passes is that they came on just 18 completions.

Kennedy attempted just 21 passes in the game.

The AF2 rookie has quickly adapted to the indoor game but is not satisfied with his performance yet.

Darnell Kennedy said. "I think we slipped in a couple of areas. I had a couple of incomplete passes that I need to complete. I think there is always room to get better."

Darnell Kennedy is the first Wildcat player to earn an AF2 weekly offensive player of the week honor this season.

Defensive back Takashi Walker and linebacker Kinny Spotwood have both earned AF2 defensive player of the week awards.
